So, you decide to write a nonfiction book about an event in your family’s past and then realize that the tale is best told as fiction, sending you to the rewrite room to begin anew. And begin you do, thinking you’ve made the correct decision but are not really sure…until you test the wordy waters and submit your first chapter to a first chapter contest–why they heck not?–and you win. Ta dah. So fun. So excited.
